Start Living.

Must be fun taking shortcuts

To being who you wish

Society would see you as;

Being highly impressionable

Like a dead fish, swaying where

The strongest current takes you;

Susceptible to societal pitfalls

A slave to peoples’ perceptions.

First line = sarcasm

But I know the addiction

Of wanting to be number one

Feels worth it

When you’re at the “bottom”

But where is the bottom?

There is none

Unless you allow yourself

To believe

That there is one.

There is no-one better

Or worse than you

Unless you’re not sure of yourself

And feel you need to prove

Something to yourself

Or others, but why?

Why exert all that energy

Into proving

Instead of re-directing it all

To living?

    It is strange, I ain’t it? That desire…and how natural it feels as we slip into it.

      Exactly…the transition is so seamless, we only realize when its too late.

    There is no bottom…this has honestly shifted my perspective on there I am in life. I often feel like I’m not on the level that I should be at this point in my life – but if there is no level…then I’m just fine. Right?

      Indeed Jo…levels are a subject of the mind, we should focus on living our lives and everything else will take care of itself…

    Marvelous! and so very true. so many people try to reach the heights without taking time to enjoy the journey scaling the mountain.

      Indeed…and in the process they lose themselves to the idea of being at the top that it becomes all they know about themselves as opposed to who they REALLY are…i’m glad you liked it 🙂

        When you put it all into perspective…being at the “top” doesn’t sound all that nice huh lol

        The View from the Mountain is Breathtaking, When you have a Foundation to Stand Upon 😉
