Spectrum -_-_- Consciousness

connected_universe_by_ryky-dazdoxk

A simple, delicate kiss, from those sweet lips

Proceeds to be that which gives

A lapse to cognitive functions;

For but a second, what follows, besides

A Kickstarter to, perhaps, the most persistent

Stream of thoughts; coiling, concentric circles

Around me, like an asteroid belt,

Overwhelming but enticing.

What they see as just another piece

Is to me, another window

They fail to peek through,

We, as poets, do not just write, no,

No… it’s not that simple bystander,

We open gateways to a new universe.

*Final piece for this () series of poems*

*

Benefits of tonal shifts

The pressure encapsulating my heart

Dispersed, harnessed and reversed

From a dark pigment to an everlasting glow.

*

If I am to continue, on this journey

Darkness volleyed my way …

Love is all I need strive to return

From my end of the court, to yours.

*

To be who I need to be,

I need to acknowledge; let go,

The phantom pain…

We were not meant to be

And that’s alright…

We embrace love in different ways

And hate you, I will not, instead

I will reflect on our triumphs;

Our cherished moments.

*

Unveiling my humanity, a rare sight to see

But, for you, I will

“You meant a lot to me

Good-bye …”

For real this time.

A collaboration between me and the ultra talented Kim from the blog Peace, Love and Patchouli

As her blog name suggests, she spreads peace and love wherever her mind travels. If you haven’t already joined the journey she has embarked on, I suggest you do; you wont be disappointed 🙂 . You can find the link to her blog here

Slipping through,

Behind me I sense you

A daily taunt, a tease…

As the tides rise at your command

I watch smitten…

When today decides to marry

A new day, a dark veil descends

I relay, rather, reflect

The best you choose to give

The light, from your form

Brings me to their attention

Hides my darkness

As I orbit around their home…

I wake from a moving slumber

Feeling your cold cool loveliness caress

As you cover me like a glowing glove

My blush rises from behind

Radiating the warmth

As I burn through this space

Glancing as I watch you

Proud and silently slipping away….

… Slipping away,

Or so it seems, to them

For departing, means arriving

On the opposite side

Of this terrestrial plain

Time consciousness on infinity,

Never missing a beat, consistently

Gracing us with that light you,

In the simplest form,

Shine persistently.

I wait for you

Like a reflection in the mirror

I know you are there

Essences of my favorite shades,

We work the line

Invisible and steady

Knowing the cord reaches unseen

I am tied to you

And you to me

Eternally.

Bound To My Crown.

Everyone and no-one

Everywhere and nowhere

Panopticon, warden, to the cause

That instigates their effect

The punctuation mark to answers

That dine with inadequacy

The knot that binds the present

To the future, the piece

To a bigger whole

A bigger whole that is incomplete

Non-existent, without that last piece

That is me.

The magnet for unsolicited disdain

By no small fraction, the very process ingrained

Through and through, my memories, I read,

Skimming the ink blots, bookmarking my favorite bits

My first love,

The heartbreak, a platform I used

To make excuses for the darkness

Realizing my mistake, Harnessing the light,

Finding peace, a crime to aforementioned paramours

Their hearts rife with jealousy, anger and pain

I allow my words to pass the threshold

Of the spirit realm

Acting as a chaser to their concentrated negativity;

After,

Find me in the Himalayas drawing a fine line

Between dark and light

 Illustrating balance,

For My Self.

In the open fields of happiness

Despair, misery, distress

… Weeds, on an otherwise perfect plain

Surface regardless, of no watering can

Reasons to be sad never cease

The dark side is self sufficient

I resist the persistent consensus

As I love in place of hate

Cultivating my better self to stream

A steady supply to the side

I believe needs it most.

Change is indeed what we need

Designating different paths for that fork

In the road, we did, I stayed, you strayed

Reined in by your shackles, like a horse

With no blinkers, swayed, by terrestrial bait

For you are, a slave, to ungoverned desire

Eyes on the world, you want it,

Instead, the world has you,

Just another unaware bead,

On life’s wrist.

CLOUDs (Part 5: Final)

CLOUDs (part 1)

CLOUDs (part 2)

CLOUDs (part 3)

CLOUDs (Part 4)

******************

The knots on lifes’ string will not be

The definitive factor that breaks me

At the darkness’s behest, dark clouds hover

Carpeting the sky, attempts at

Cutting my ties with the source;

Redundantly overshadowing an otherwise

Gloomy quest.

Sometimes,

Pain comes from where we least expect it

My quest for love did not go

As I had initially intended,

Instead, it took a turn, then another,

And then another …

I do not know what saddens me more

The betrayal, or my heart becoming accustomed to it.

Many great men have embraced the pain

Used it as an excuse to inflict

It would be so easy, wouldn’t it?

 Undoubtedly, this event will change

The established code

But not facilitate

Inhibitions that coil the light

In my heart

Instead, it will be that

Which I step on

To reach that

Which I deserve.

Perhaps I really am arrogant

A speck of dust that chooses not to settle

On the sand dunes with grains

Filled with contentment,

But rather, hitch a ride

On the winds of change

Soar through turbulent skies

Finding my own truth

Not relying on that which I’ve been handed.

To fight for my people

Rather, the suppressors of a movement unhinged

A month is far from enough

Give me a platform

To praise the origins of the Black Star

And i’d rather use it

To address the blight in society

To expose the condescending confinement

Of a history that dwarfs

That which you choose to give.

I will not smile and be subtle in how I write

You weren’t subtle when you

Mistook our kindness for weakness

Bringing your “ideal” forms of change

Like you’re the definitive source of salvation

Cursing an entire race

To a legacy of cotton picking.

What do you call it again,

First World? Third World?

To who, you?

You trying to tell me

That as a continent

We are nothing until you believe

We are something?

That all we could ever hope to be,

Is you?

Don’t make me laugh.

You shoot us in the knee cap

Run a thousand miles with OUR supplies

Then tell us to catch up?

You broke the rules, to make new rules

To break them,

Again.

Do not tell me to quell my rage

As you sip martinis in the comfort

Of foundations built on my forefathers

Blood, sweat and tears;

I am an incarnation of 400 years of rebellion

I am the echo that reverberates

In place of those afraid to be perceived

As disturbers of peace.

Peace is not living under

A commercialized sense of happiness,

Peace is not lying to ourselves

And others that you see us as equals;

Peace is building awareness for your crimes

Peace is the admission,

That you would not be where you are

Without us.
